Weight gain w/ovary(ies)? Changes with ovary(ies)?
Is weight gain an issue? I have heard from 3 family members who have hysterectomies that they gained weight after surgery. Is that an individual issue and it depends on the person? Does it have to do with HRT or keeping ovary(ies)? I am going in next week for pre-op and it looks like one and maybe 2 ovaries will be saved.
Does it matter if you have one or two? How much does it change the PMS/moodiness? Mine has been bad for the last year and I never used to have it.
Also...can anyone describe the feeling/difference when you ovulate and do not have a uterus/bleed? I am sure it's great not to bleed but is there pain or discomfort~ever? I am starting to prepare and these are some off the wall questions but hey, thought I'd ask!
Thanks

I kept both of my ovaries, and since my surgery I have lost ten pounds. I do not know how much of that can be attributed to the uterus and fibroids.
I have eaten normal, regular foods.

THANK YOU!! I have a feeling that will happen to me too...here's praying! I am gaining weight but my uterus is getting larger. I hope I lose it all when they get rid of it!
