Heels = Mistake. OUCH

Hi ladies. Today is day two back to work, 8 weeks post op. I put on a new dress today and didn't have flat shoes to match but did have a pair of low heels - maybe 2 inches. I thought that would be OK. BIG MISTAKE. I had no idea how much strain heels put on your lower abdomen. I can't even straighten up when I walk. Going to sit at my desk as much as possible. I'm squeezing my knees together as I dread the walk to the ladies room. I guess my real heels will sit in the closet for some time.

Hopefully I will save someone else the pain of finding out for themselves.

I am so sorry that you had to find out the hard way. I hope that you are able to get some rest. Plan on not wearing them for a little while longer.

I am going to have to hope for the best on this one. My son is getting married in 3 weeks and I will be in heels.

Janet - I don't know what you mean by heels but if possible get something low. If you must wear your heels, I strongly suggest you get a pair of flats to take with you. Wear the heels when necessary - pictures etc and then change. I wear heels all the time and have for 30 years. Normally 3 3/4 - 4 inches. I could not believe the pain with silly 2 inch nothings. My belly is all swollen, my incision hurts and my muscles are tight.

I'm sorry, I'm don't mean to rain on your parade but be prepared. You don't want to be uncomfortable for your son's big day.

Thanks for the warning. I don't usually wear heels at all but I have 2 inch heels to wear with my dress. I will bring a back up pair of shoes but will try to make it through the day.
