more of the same

A YEAR to wait to do crunches, Country Rose? WOW, I had no idea.... Now I have an excuse...lol....

I'm sick of being on this couch and watching news...all this between Lebanon and Israel makes me nervous.....

It's so incredibly hot outside - feels like standing in a frying pan! Never thought about the problems with heat and a yeast infection..... that is a concern.

I think I'll watch Rachel Ray....... Have a great day, Ladies....

With me

I will be fine all day, unless I eat. I swell up right after dinner. If I know I am going out I don't eat for hours.

Anyone else have swelly belly above the belly button?

I am much further out than most of you and still get this.

It usually occurs in the evening and is better in the mornings.

Gets worse after I eat too.

Anyone else have swelly belly above the belly button?

OK, Now wait Sisters!

My gyn told me at my 6 week check up I was cleared to do anything. He said I could leave his office and go join a gym. He said not to expect to do 50 sit-ups today....but....

I am now doing crunches. I did 65 yesterday.

What's the theory of waiting a year??? I'm afraid if we sit back and do nothing....nothing will happen and the Swelly Belly will become a fixture. As a matter of fact, my gyn said the Swelly Belly goes away in about 3 months with light abdominal exercise.

I'm at 10 weeks today and feeling great....better than I have in a LONG time. Still get a bit tired though, but not nearly as bad as I thought I might.

Here's to recovery and to the Swelly Belly's taking a hike.....

Anyone else have swelly belly above the belly button?

That's great news Glad It's Over. I paid for a 1 year membership to a gym in May - before I new wall that was to happen to me - so I am anxious not to lose all of that. I wasn't prepared for this stomach. I had a little jelly belly BEFORE surgery because of my C-Section....now it's a major swelly jelly belly.... <sigh> Oh, well, maybe next year I'll buy a new swimsuit. I can't wait to feel better and I know it's coming! YEA.... Today I'm back to the DR for a 3 week checkup.

Texas Teacher - I went to cancel my gym membership knowing it would be months before I could work out, and they offered me a "medical bridge." It basically meant they would put my membership on hold until I was medically ready to come back, and they wouldn't charge me in the meantime. Perhaps your gym would do that?

Good luck with your check-up today!

Anyone else have swelly belly above the belly button?

I had bloating from under my breasts too. It turns out it was my gallbladder also. I had it removed four months after my abdominal surgery. I wish they had removed it when they did the hysterectomy. My abdomen remains large and looks like I have a canteloupe inside. Turns out-- I have a large incisional hernia. My blouses remained tight even after I lost 10 lbs. I am having it repaired in a few weeks. Hopefully, no more swelly belly.

Wendra: 3 surgeries in 1 year. You poor thing.

I was concerned at first that the swelling may be due to gallbladder, but I have no other symptoms of a problem gallbladder.

My swelly has calmed down a lot, especially in the morning.

Good luck on your repair surgery.

Anyone else have swelly belly above the belly button?

Hi LuvMaui--Glad to hear it wasn't your gallbladder! This will be my 7th surgery in two years. I also had breast cancer in 2004. Hopefully it has been cured! Thanks for the sympathy! I try not to feel sorry for myself and just keep plugging away! I have been so embarrassed to go out in public with this huge tummy! But I had to get out and shop with the girls and do all the fun things in life. : ) And to think this wasn't all ME this time! What a way to lose inches huh??
