PMS after a TVH??

Hey Gals!
I'm almost 5 weeks post TVH and by my old schedule, I should be getting my 'normal' period. I say 'normal' because its the 28 day cylce that I used to have before my body went crazy.
Along with that cycle came the usual oily nose, Floods, nausea, smell sensitivity, back pain and 'witchyness' that I've dealt with for the last 10 years.
Well, GUESS WHAT! Its all here again with the exception of the Floods!! Oh, my boobs aren't as swollen as they used to get but still sensitive.
Apparently my ovaries are still functioning but is that enough to put me into PMS?
If anyone out there has experienced this, please give me the 411!!
Thanks!!!!

PMS after a TVH??

Hello ladies,

I'm 2 years post op with same surgery. I too had a wee shock when flo's visit would have been due the first time with some PMT symptoms raising their fists. I had expected it though as my drs warned me anyway that although the surgery would definitely cure the pain and loss flo brought, they couldn't be so sure how my ovaries would take it. We'd decided to keep them because of my age and I'm not a good candidate for HRT with my history but would look at it again if they continued to be a nuisance.

By 3 months post op I was a jibbering wreck but again, because of my history, my docs and I decided to give them more time to settle and by 6 months after surgery, I knew it was "flo time" but the sypmtoms were oh so tame!! (My gp said he half expected me to have this happen this way, given their overt over-enthusiasm at calling the tune as displayed in the past - he has a good sense of humour too!)

You are both still quite early in recovery and your body is still recovering from the shock it goes through, especially your ovaries and may need a bit more time to settle down. Discussing it with your drs is the best I can suggest and keep a note of what is happening as it will help them to decide what help if any you may need.

Hang in there and good luck.
