9/13 Hysterectomy kept ovaries.

Hello ladies! I am so glad it's done! I had to stay in the hospital overnight because I couldn't pee, but it was nice. Minimal pain I basically took Ibuprofen and Tylenol for my pain. The procedure was done laparoscopic. My Doctor removed uterus, fibroid, cervix, and tube station. Ovaries stayed, my doctor stated that they were in good condition and helps with better recovery. I had slight spot bleeding then blood gone. Great sleep though felt so good. I was up and walking around that night. Although now I do get winded if I'm moving around to much but in all I'm doing great.

Hi, welcome to the post op side. Walking is good, rotate with drinking water, rest & repeat. Post op constipation/gas is the next hurdle. Peppermint tea, stool softeners, eat apples, veggies, prunes, prune juice, juices, magnesium, pumpkin seeds.

Eat small snacks & meals spaced out vs heavy meals. Avoid starchy pasta, breads, etc. Smoothies are great especially if you dont have much appetite. 1 c blueberries frozen, 1 c spinach, 2 Tbls ground flax seeds, 1/2 banana, then your choice 1/2 c yogurt & or 1/2 c any type of milk-soy, almond, cashew, etc & add ice.Keep the water & walking going.. ⚘

Thanks so much LailaStar. Yes I have been drinking water. My throat is still sore, plus I think I have a cold immune system low. I'll have to work on the small meals. So far I've been eating 2 meals a day. I'll have to try that smoothie recipe sounds good.

(((Tlprice26)))

Welcome to the other side!

Please use the dedicated recovery progress reports thread for your surgery week (in the Post-Op Sub-Forum) to share updates about your recovery.

However, if you have a specific question about your recovery, then please start a new thread here in the Main Post-Op Support Forum where sisters at all stages of recovery, and beyond, can share their experiences.

We're sending best wishes for a smooth recovery!
