Help.....Pain like poke by needle

I am almost 5 weeks TAH post op. Today I’m feeling sharp pain in my tummy. These pains kept bother me since this morning. Plain medication does not help me. I have no fever just pain like somebody stuck a hundred of needle into my tummy. Should I go to ER? Or wait until tomorrow. Any suggestion will appreciate.

Hugs you all.

Re: Help.....Pain like poke by needle

Did you keep your ovaries? If so they could be waking up and having pains. If it gets too bad I would go to the ER or get in to see your doctor. I hope you feel better soon.

Re: Help.....Pain like poke by needle

If the pain is bothersome, please head to the ER if your doctor is not available for you to talk to. At 5 weeks post-op, I had what I called quick twinges or a type of pulling that kind of surprised me but were not really painful. From your description, it sounds like more than that. I think I would head to the ER. If it is something serious, at least you will be catching it earlier rather than later.

Re: Help.....Pain like poke by needle

It is possible that the pain you are feeling is just the ovary waking back up. I know when mine started working again (they went into shock for 2 months) that I could feel when I was ovulating. It was like a bad pinching for about a day. There were a lot of those healing pains around my 4th week. It could just be part of the normal healing or the ovary. If it gets too bad go to the ER. Better safe than sorry. I just know I could really feel the ovulating so that may be what it could be.

Re: Help.....Pain like poke by needle

I've had a lot of little pains that feel like I'm being stung, or stabbed with needles -- it seems to be normal. A friend had the same surgery 2 months before I did, and had the exact same thing.
