How soon is your first post-op check-up?

I had LAVH on June 18th. I go back at 4 weeks (July 18). If more cancer had been found in the tissue removed at the hyst, then I'd have been back at 2 weeks. No additional cancer was found, so I'm going at 4 weeks.

I go 2 weeks post-op, after that I don't know. I don't know if she taped my surgery, but I watched one on youtube, pretty interesting, not bloody.

How soon is your first post-op check-up?

I had my first post op appointment at 2 weeks, and then my next one will be at 6 weeks. I think this is when I will be released to return to work.

How soon is your first post-op check-up?

Hi all!

Thanks so very much for all the replies--I was a bit concerned that 4 weeks seemed a bit far out, but looks like it is just about right!

Turns out I will be seeing my doc today at 4:10pm, as I was seen in the ER on Friday. Doc's office called me first thing this AM to sch. an appt to follow up on my left-quadrant pain, which is getting better, but they asked to see me anyway...want to go over my path. report, but did say no signs of cancer and not to be too worried Will post under the post-op follow-up thread when I get home--thanks to all again!

Wishing you all the very best & please take care...

Sincerely, Trish

How soon is your first post-op check-up?

My staples were removed before I checked out of the hospital - and steri-strips stayed on until 2 weeks. Everything healed well. I had a 2 week post-op with the urologist because he needed to remove the stent he inserted during surgery. My gyn post-op is at 4 weeks which is already next week!

I think maybe my staples came out so quickly -- and my incision healed so nicely - because my surgeon used the same scar from my C-section 21 years ago. Hard to believe my "baby" is 21 years old!
