Hi, I could use some more advice.

Good Morning everyone, I could use your help again. I just woke up a little while ago and noticed I am cramping a bit more that usual. (recap) I had a TAH on the 17th of this month. I am also having a pretty heavy discharge. Is this normal? Should I be concerned? Things always seem to go wrong with me at the worst time, here we are in the begining of a long weekend and I can't get to my GYN until Tuesday. So, what do you guys think? Thanks a bunch. Have a great day.

Christina

Hi, I could use some more advice.

Call your doctor. There should be someone on call who can call you back with advice.

I know what you mean on the timing thing. All my problems seem to come up on Sunday morning.

Hi, I could use some more advice.

I did, the Dr on call was no much help. She sadi don't worry about it unless I start running a fever. Which I just checked and I am not. I just took some Mortin and Tylenol, I can't stomach the pain meds either. My kids Pediatrician one time told me to mix Tylenol and Motrin to bring down thier fevers and then to do Motrin every 6 hours and tylenol every 4 hours after that so I think I am going to start that today and see if it helps the pain. I hate this. I felt so crapy yesturday I slept all day long and all night. My husband kept coming in to see if I was still alive. I pray nothing is getting infected. On a good note I recieved my Hystersisters pamper package yesturday so I took my book and hopped right into bed. I read the entire thing and then went to sleep for the rest of the day. I love the book, it made me feel like I wasn't alone anymore. Noone in my family has had a hysto. so no one else knows how I feel. Thank God for all of you. Christina

Good Morning Christina,
...If it was me....

....I would call your gyno's office and inform his service that you are really concerned with the bleeding, and the discomfort at this time.

Hi, I could use some more advice.

Thanks for the advice. It's not blood it's just a very heavy discharge. And cramping, if I didn't know better I'd think I was having PMS again. I have all the syptoms I used to have. I really hate this!!!!!

Hi, I could use some more advice.

Hello Christina,

I would definately call my gyn on Tuesday, just to ease my mind.

I am now 5 1/2 weeks post-op TAH and I think about week 2-3 I developed a heavy brown discharge. I was lucky....it was during the week and no holiday, so I was able to talk to the doctors. She said that I was over doing it. I was up too much. I also had to ask for more of the strong pain meds. She did tell me to alternate the strong stuff with ibuprophen. She said that if the discharge turned red or the pain got to be more than I could bear, then go to the e.r., but otherwise it was probably, I had pulled a stitch inside. She said it wasn't uncommon. When we feel better we tend to move around too much and do too much.

I still have days when I need to sleep. I can usually tell if I've over done it the day before because it takes me two days to recover.

Take care and if the discharge turns to red go to the e.r.

Hi, I could use some more advice.

cw1297,
Hi! Do you still have your ovaries? I don't know first hand because I had my ovaries taken out but I have read that if you still have your ovaries you could actually still have symptoms of PMS and what some of the other sisters have referred to as mini periods.
Just as a side point when I was looking at your profile to see if I could tell if you had your ovaries out or not I saw that you have 3 year old twins, I have twins too! They are so much fun! Mine are 19 years old now and in college but I remember all the fun I had with them.
