Re: I want to be pain free!! 10day Post Op

AJ, you are still so very early in your recovery. Give it time, it will get better. Recovery is a process, with some days not as good as others. Hang in there sweetie, it won't always be this way.

Each person is different and recovers differently. I have a higher tolerance for pain, than others might have. So what's painful for one person, may not be for another. Try to look at this one day at a time, one step at a time and I can assure you that you will get to where you need to be, when you are supposed to be there.

Lots of (((HUGS))) to you

Re: I want to be pain free!! 10day Post Op

10 days post op is really early to be pain free, although you should be getting a little better each day it will still take some time! I promise it will get easier!! I am six weeks post op and it wasn't until well into my third week that I really started to feel like myself again. Now at six weeks I feel totally normal! Try and take it a day at a time, rest as often and you can and do not over do it! Rest is the best advice I can give you! Your body heals faster and better when you are at rest! I know it can be frustrating believe me I have been right where you are, but just hang in there and you will be pain free before you know it! Prayers and hugs to you! 😊

Re: I want to be pain free!! 10day Post Op

Hello there! I am 8 weeks post op. As the other sisters have said it is a journey and we all heal differently. For me I started to learn to compare weeks rather the days Some days were easier then others and as I started to add things into my day to day I get little pains reminders that there is healing in progress. It is a challenge to be patient as your body recovers. For me trying to listen to my body cues and stop was key. The more I listened and made small goals and with time the less I had of pain. I still get little ouchies as I get vack to normal life. But am now able to most thunks with with no pain. Best wishes in your recovery be the princess you need to be and as hard as it is to believe these early days will be a foggy memeory.

Re: I want to be pain free!! 10day Post Op

I had an easy recovery, but I took Aleve for a full 3 weeks. On it, I was pretty much pain free. But I didn't see the point in stopping it too soon so I continued it until I was pain free without it. Everyone is different and tolerates a different level of pain and discomfort. Give it some time, and consider OTC meds if you need them.

Re: I want to be pain free!! 10day Post Op

11 days post op. Felt great yesterday and today I have a backache and abdominal soreness again. I have been falling doctors orders exactly. Drinking lots, abit of walking and plenty of rest. I think we just need time to heal. I am sure if we saw a video of our surgery we'd wonder why we feel as good as we do.

Just know you are not alone!

8 days post op....I totally understand where you are coming from. I had a personal best sleep last night 8 hours! I had been sleeping at most 4 hours and was going through insomnia.
