My Gyn did my surgery so I was fortunate enough to have the care of my doctor that has been treating for for the past 3 years manage my symptoms. I just do not like the HRT but I need it. I will make an effort to take the pills daily. I'm tired of aching. I want to cry right now. This recovery is the pits. I'm over the physical part but this emotional part is the worst.

Re: 3+ months post hysterectomy - not bouncing back….

I would call your doctor and demand to speak to the nurse. Don't be nice about it. I would just keep saying you need to speak to a MEDICAL professional not a clerical person. You need to speak to either the doctor or the nurse. Before speaking to the nurse, write down all your problems so that you can tell her what is going on. Make sure that all your symptoms are written down including the emotional ones. One of the things that I have discovered with hrt is that one size doesn't fit all. A lot of times you have to keep messing with it and changing things until you find what works for you. You may need another treatment for the bleeding also. But you need to have a MEDICAL person to talk to you. A clerical person can not make this decision. And sometimes you absolutely need to be demanding about this. I think that a nurse is going to be more understanding about this and be helpful and probably be able to get some relief for you. I know that for me I just had to list everything so that they understood how bad things were and then my doc was able to understand all of what I was going through. I needed an anti depressant because of the emotional component of going through menopause . Surgical menopause can be hell, It really is tough and I do believe most docs understand this. Clerical staff not so much. I was lucky that my docs staff does understand this and get me through. Good luck and I hope you find some help. I know it is out there.

the surgeon will only deal with the bleeding aspect . i have an appointment in sept with the obgyn so other things can be discussed then . I'm going to call the surgeon today and again ask for a nurse and tell them I'm still bleeding. he did the silver nitrate in may

Some women do need more than one silver nitrate treatment if the granulation is extensive. It sounds to me like you fall into that category.

I agree with the ladies above to insist to speak with someone other than the receptionist. She may have "orders" from the doctor to screen the incoming calls somewhat but this is ridiculous. Your last treatment was in May, and you should not have been left bleeding all this time. I hope they can fit you in this week and take care of you. I would also discuss with the doctor the way his staff has treated you. It's unacceptable for the receptionist to make judgement calls on your health.

Perhaps give your OB/GYN office a call and ask if you can be on a cancellation list? September must seem like a long time to wait when you're dealing with surgical menopause.

Sweetie, I'm and hope you get the attention you need and feel better very soon!
