Swelly Belly at week 14, is this for real???

Week 14 and all of a sudden I have MAJOR swelly belly. Not only that but, in a week have put on 8 pounds!!! What the heck is going on?? Any advice appreciated.

Yikes! Did your original swelly belly (i.e. the one directly after surgery) go away completely? If so, sounds like you are just bloated/retaining water right now. Others have posted that when they are "hormonal" (i.e. used to be PMS) they get bloated. Not sure if that's what's going on with you (but if you find yourself peeing like crazy in a few days and losing those pounds then that was it!). I am only 4+ weeks out (TAH - kept ovaries) and my initial swelly belly is nearly gone so I don't have any related experience - hopefully someone who is farther out will comment. Good luck and hope it goes away soon.

hiya i'm nearly 20 weeks post op and and since the surgery i've put on 10lbs and it all seems to be in my tummy, its massive i hate it.

I hope it's water retention :0( Maybe you can try drinking hot water with lemon juice. It's a diuretic and will help make you pass some of the water. That's what I do when it's around that time of the month for me. Works like a charm.

I've heard that swelly belly can go on for a good year- but THIS is ridiculous. 8 pounds? Really? I don't even try to suck it in- I'm just going with the 20 week pregnant look. (Sigh)...

Im right behind you with the swelly belly.. it looks like im pregnant..lol not in the am but in the pm its bad..oh well its all a part of the experience!!! hopefully my experience will flatten out soon..
