Meltdown

So I'm almost 6 weeks postop and kept one ovary. I'm guessing my ovary is causing some crazy hormone stuff because I am not normally a cryer. One of my jobs is as a Pampered Chef Consultant (for 9 years). Tonight is my first show since surgery and my husband is supposed to be loading my car, taking me to my show, unloading me, etc, since I still can't lift. Well he finds out this morning when he gets to work he has to go out of town and won't be back in town in time. I lost it! Not with him but after we got off the phone! Crying and having the most irrational thoughts!! Oh my goodness! My eyes hurt so bad!! What is that about!! This surgery has caused the craziest things!!!

Re: Meltdown

Hey sister,

Crying and the irrational thoughts are very comman. Your hormones are everywhere right now, and should settle down. HOWEVER, if they dont, go back to your docs and get help. I ignored these symptoms for too long and was actually clinical depressed and now on meds. I am absolutley fine now. Im not for one second saying you have this, but there are things that can help you. Reseach breathing techniques and meditation techniques, all of which are on line these days. These help big time with the irrational thought! You also have to remember, even though 6 weeks seems a long time, you have had major surgery and your body is going to take a while to heal, physically and mentally. Be gentle with yourself, dont feel guilty for your emotions, accept them for what they are, and you will feel better soon.
Your job sounds amazing
Lots of love

Thanks Loons, I do love my job! I think I was just very nervous and when plans changed it kind of freaked me out! I did deep breathing and prayed and I'm fine now. I'm taking a supplement from my nutritionist that I started on Tuesday so hopefully that will level things out! Thanks so much! I love this site for all the support!

Re: Meltdown

Hi Sister,

OMG, there must be something about six weeks. I did the same thing last night.
So, I'm thinking its that I don't feel 100% yet, and we are attempting to go back to our lives, but really are needing help to do that. You with lifting and schleping, me with trying to keep my work hours reasonable. (Preoperatively I was doing about a 60 hour week) . Frankly, its a lonely place when others are wanting you to just be well, ok, admit it, WE want to be "all well", too. And I Hate depending on someone.
You did exactly the right thing getting your hubby to help. Bottom line, someone Has to help. Your wonderful stuff is Heavy.
Agreed, if this goes on, you need to talk with your pcp about it.

And, I took great comfort knowing somewhere in the world was another 6 weeker sobbing. I'm thinking we're just normal. Oh, and for me, both ovaries gone.
Hang in there.

Hugs,
Clay

Thanks so much! And I think you are right, I just felt isolated and alone, when I felt like I was trying to get back to normal by starting back to work. My husband has been so wonderful through this whole thing, and so understanding, I don't want to make him out to be a bad guy. I know it will level out, I'm just ready for it to be leveled out already!! Lol!!
