(2 week post ops) How Are Ya'll Doing?
Had total abdominal hysterectomy 19 May. Had post-op infection, but now feel like I'm starting to make progress. Still experiencing abdominal pain/discomfort. Car journeys tend to make me feel very uncomfortable. Still feel very tired in the afternoons, and sleeping at night is not too good (wake up 2/3 times and having terrible nightmares)...
Have another 4 weeks before going back to work. Am hoping that things improve soon so I can at least enjoy the rest of my time off work.
No menopausal symptoms yet, but am guessing they can still hit. Can't have HRT because of breast cancer history.

(2 week post ops) How Are Ya'll Doing?
Hi all~
I was 2 weeks on the 31st.
No longer have pain really, although the belly definitely feels swollen/heavy at times, especially at night. I do take ibuprophen every day as I have rheumatoid arthritis, but stopped taking the heavy duty pain meds the first week. Minimal discharge.
Doctor gave me clearance to drive on Tuesday, so I've been driving my DD to school and picking her up for 3 days now. I'm so happy to be getting out
I'm surprised that gas hasn't been a problem for me, but it seems like I've got to p a lot.

(2 week post ops) How Are Ya'll Doing?
I was 2 weeks on Wednesday. My recovery is going a little slower according to the doctor. I had a tremendous amount of bruising, from the left of my incision all the way around my right hip into my buttocks and down into the top of my right leg. Also my top of my vagina and the outer lips were swollen and blue. He said the blood pooled downward into that area from the top. He said he wished he could say it had never happened but it had happened to him too, a blood vessel was hit. This was not my DR who took my staples out. Mine is on vacation. I have also been running a fever since the hospital. Took 2 strong antibiotics and went back yesterday, DR said he thinks it is taking a little longer to heal and some of the low fever is coming from that. He said my bruising was better, but still a lot. I mostly lay around, very bored, can't focus to read and I love to read. I have swifted the floors a little bit and put a few clothes in and out. Straighten some, but when I do everbody fusses at me.
Went out 1 other time except for the 2 DR trips. Went to Wal-Mart last Friday, then to eat, had to recover on Saturday. It was too much too soon. The house is driving me stir crazy. I still have a lot of stomach and side pain. I would love to go to a movie, just there and back to start with. My daughter did my toes last night, she does good pedicures. Would love to get my haircut, but my hairdresser left for 8 weeks before my surgery and I don't know who to go to. Been trying to decide, don't think I can wait until she gets back.
Very glad to hear from all of you who are doing so well! I know that if I didn't have these few problems, I would've probably be feeling a little better by now. My principal had someone call from work yesterday to see if I wanted to come and eat lunch with them on our last day of school next week. They said they would come and get me. I have not been released to drive yet. Acutally, all he said to me yesterday was to walk a little more. I told him I do walk a good bit. I did walk my little ****zu puppy on Sunday afternoon. I have to take care of 2 of them, mine and my daughter's during the day when nobody is here. They're a handful!
