pre-op soon

My pre-op appointment is scheduled for 8/10. I'm having a laparoscopic assisted vaginal total hysterectomy with oophorectomy. Hoping to keep my right ovary to avoid menopause.
I am so nervous and my emotions have been all over the place. I'm wondering what the average time between the pre-op appointment and the surgery is. I just want to get it over with and deal with what is to come.

All of your emotions, feelings, fears and anxieties are very normal. This is one tough surgery to face and digest.

The timing between the pre-op appointment and your surgery is dependent on your doctor, the hospital schedule and the reason for your surgery. If your surgery is more urgent, say a cancer concern, they tend to get you in quicker. So some women have their surgery in a week or so after the appointment, and others wait longer.

I had a follow up doc appt on July 18. He scheduled my TAH for Aug 2nd and my pre op had to be within 7 days of surgery so that appointment is tomorrow July 27th. I go to the doctors office first then over to the hospital for pre op testing.

Thank you ladies. Unknowns are always hard for me. My anxiety gets out of control.

I had a cancer concern. My gyn onc surgeon took one look at me and my tests and said "You are having surgery ASAP. I have openings in my schedule for the next two weeks." Ten days later I was in the OR for my TAH BSO. Not much time to plan, but I was in there quickly. All was tested in the OR and all was benign.
