Adenomyosis anyone ?

Hi, I'm new here!
It is such a relief to read that I am not alone with having a hysterectomy from Adenomyosis. I had never heard of it when my doctor told me that is what I had.
Before I found out what it was, I didn't know how I was going live each day with the amount of pain I had. I felt like the doctors looked at me like I was a drug addict. The meds didnt even take the pain away it just took the edge off basically. So finally I had a name to what I had and they knew I wasn't just trying to get pain medicine.
I did keep one ovary and I go for my post op visit in about 2 1/2 weeks.
I am nervous about the pathology but I think that is something that everyone thinks about in the back of their mind.
I am just happy there is someplace I can go feel like I am not alone. And I can learn what others are going through and tips of what worked for them.
Thanks ladies!!!

Hi and welcome, it is to bad you didn't find this site until after your surgery. Sounds like you're doing OK. Remember not to over due the activities when you start to feel stronger and have less pain it is easy to do.
Have a great day

Adenomyosis anyone ?

I actually did everything backwards on my surgery, but hey I like surprises. When I went in to see my Dr. about my monthlies (and lack of) he gave me several options including testing. I automatically went for the Birth control. After a few months I called and told him that I wanted surgery instead (with no second opinions, my mind was made up). So I had the Da Vinci Total Hyster., everything taken. The day of the surgery I felt over 100% better. I never had any problems except for a small headache for 3 weeks, which is nothing compared to migranes, so I know I was lucky. I got my lab results back this week and found out that I had: Chronic Cervicitis, Endometrial Polyps, Weakly Proliferative Endometrium, Leiomyomata and Adenomyosis and 10 Paratubal Cysts. So this explains why I was feeling like my body was poisioning me. Good news all Benign!
You do what you need to do but one suggestion check out the Da Vinci surgery if you do the surgery. It's the only way to go. It is less Evasive and recovery time is a lot faster. Good luck
