keeping ovaries...need for hormones after hyster.

I am having a LAVH March 26th... we're planning on keeping both ovaries- but taking out cervix with uterus. There have been so many reports on this site of people needing hormones for vaginal dryness, libido, etc -even if they got to keep their ovaries. Has anyone NOT had any side effects needing testosterone, estrogen, etc. creams? I am really beginning to have doubts about the whole thing!

I'm almost 8 months post op and need nothing. Kept both ovaries and I'm 38! Remember that everyone's body reacts differently. I'm 100% better health wise following TAH. Best thing I ever did!

AS you can see it will be 2 years in april for me i had an lavh rso ....my body took a few weeks to get back into order and things are great. Dont panic if ya have some chills and hot flashes for abit it takes time. As far as dryness it does happen from time to time and thats with anyone.Good luck and email me if ya have any questions. I am almost 5 months after my LAVH and I have only noticed a slight dryness so we just use some KY during intercourse to make it more enjoyable. Don't be nervous.

Thanks ladies! My mother in-law just told me, unsolicited so I was surprised, that the only thing that changed for her-were her climaxes changed after the operation. She said they were not gone, just different but still satisfying. My husband thinks I'm nuts for worrying about our sex lives but I am. Thank you all for answering my questions!

I had a TVH, kept ovaries, on December 29, 2006. Have not experienced any "dryness" whatsoever. Sex is GREAT. I am 53.
