3 weeks post-op

I had a da Vinci total hysterectomy which also removed the ovaries and cervix on June 26. I spent 2 nights in the hospital on doctor advice as so much fluid was pumped in me and I am overweight. My surgery was delayed a couple hours because of an abnormal EKG and needed a cardiologist to clear me. My anesthesiologist was very cautious because of this and afterwards said she was impressed with my lung capacity since I have mild asthma and was upside down during the procedure. Finally in recovery and taken to my room and bed bound for rest of day on doctor orders. Had horrible gas pains but was able to eat my supper which made the gas pains worse. Never got nauseated from pain meds. Anti-gas relief meds weren't working. Got up next day and walked as much as I could. Staff at hospital I was at was excellent and took very good care of me. Swollen belly - no kidding! Got to shower which felt good. Finally had BM which didn't help gas pains, they said it's because of the gas they use to expand your insides and the bowel prep I had to do day before surgery that it hurts afterwards for a few days. Another night in hospital and home finally. Recovery has been good except I pulled a couple inside stitches sweeping 2 weeks post-op. Discharge instructions did say activities as tolerated and slow sweeping I guess was too much. Hurts still on right side and in middle when I laugh or bend too much or sit upright too long.
