Re: Struggling with insomnia - any suggestions?

I have used Valerian root (herb capsules) or the antihistamine Benadryl.

I think it is common to have the insomnia after this surgery, and our routines get all messed up. Once I went to bed and got up at the same time everyday, and cut out naps, things got better.

Here are some suggestions for insomnia:

Re: Struggling with insomnia - any suggestions?

I don't have a suggestion other than Benadryl (the same ingredient in Tylenol PM that helps you sleep) but you can always play on Games Games Games on this site. Lots of fun and a great way to make friends if you can't sleep anyway!

Re: Struggling with insomnia - any suggestions?

I haven't been taking naps since the first few days and the insomina is terrible. I am so tired but only sleep a few hours and wake up again. I am even trying some over the counter stuff and its not really helping...

Re: Struggling with insomnia - any suggestions?

Takes awhile for your body to adjust to all the changes but you should start sleeping better shortly. Some of the things I used earlier on was a children's anti nauseant...here in Canada ours is called Gravol or Celestial Sleepy Time Tea. Both worked for me and now I"m not using anything and I'm sleeping a lot better. Hope this helps....good luck and happy healing
