Am I going to go hormonal?

After reading some of these comments, I am wondering if this good feeling is going to go away. I am 4 weeks post op TAH BSO. I am 37 so my doctor immediately put me on hormones and I have felt great. I didn't realize that I might have a store of hormones in my body. Do you know when these usually deplete?

Am I going to go hormonal?

From what I understand they are depleted pretty quickly. I am six weeks postop and asked my doc yesterday if I could possibly have any left, and she said no, that they are broken down by the kidneys and are out of the body very quickly. Anyone else have a different response from their dr?

Same Feeling

I just had my 4 week post-op visit with dr. and we discussed this very thing. She said that any hormonal symptoms would have started by about 3 days after surgery. I have minimal hot flashes and no other emotional or other symptoms. I started on a patch in the hospital. She doesn't anticipate any other hormonal issues to start up. I feel great and hope it continues.

Good Luck!

Am I going to go hormonal?

Great news. Thanks for the input. My doctor started me on the patch in the hospital as well. Love it!

Am I going to go hormonal?

I didn't get to start the patch until 4 weeks after surgery...so I did get to go through Menopause full blast.

The only thing I experienced was hotflashes and night sweats. Nothing emotional then or now.

I count it a blessing, as I have heard some have a very difficult time with the emotional aspect of it
