HELP!!!! I need hugs today!!!

Hi Sisters!
I am having a rough day and need some cyber hugs!!
Woke this a.m. in so much pain!!! They were gas pains b/c I had actually slept a full 8 hours ( 1st time since sy!) and missed my usual dosage of GasX! For the first time I was in tears from the pain!
Still can't poo and it feels like pressure building! I'm taking a stool softener and eating lots of fiber but nothings moving! It even hurts to pass gas!
And all my incisions are itching so bad its making me crazy!! My doc put waterproof bandages on the incision sites and said I could just leave them on until they fell off and then I could put bandaids on them. They've only started to loosen a very little and I think that's just from my scratching so much. I don't think I should take them off but I dont know what to do.
Thanks for letting me vent. I've been really good about staying positive and knowing it's a process in healing but it's just a bit tougher today.

Tink; it does get better!

The first few days until you make that first trip to the are a bit tough. Be sure to drink lotsa water - you might also want to have DH get you some prunes or prune juice.

PS keep taking the stool softeners for awhile; you will be glad you did! I took two a day (morning and afternoon) for the first 2-3 weeks.

More Hugs!! Yes, I have to add to the stool softeners, it takes a while, but they will help sooo much. The gas pains do lighten and soon you too will feel better. HUGS and good luck

I am sorry you're having a rough day. The road to recovery will have good days and bad days. It will get better.

I had my first bm, 3 days post op and have no trouble since. I did have that horrible gas pains before I went....and I farted and farted that even surprised hubby LOL. Your bowels will straighten up too. I pray you have a good bm and no gas soon!!!

Thank you so much for the post. I'm still trying to stay positive. That's the hard part isn't it ~ to stay positive when you're in pain!
I do have some good news to report.... I've actually passed gas today that didn't hurt and came out pretty easy!! WAHOO!!!
Now I know why the dog runs around the house for 10 minutes after he has a bm!! I keep imagining that's how I'm gonna feel after I go! LOL!
Haunted, you made me laugh!! Warn me next time so I can hold my swelly belly!
