One week post-op ~ when will I feel better?

I'm from orleans......greetings from one salty dog to the other.

On the pain front.....I went major grocery shopping today. It wasn't too bad, but of course even though I peed before I got there, when I got there I had to pee again...and it's a grocery store where they really frown on you for that. I think the status of my walk sort of told them that they should really let me go
I'm a bit tired after that little trek, although I have to admit that the ride there on a semi bumpy road did more damage to me than the trip through the store. I'm actually contemplating an advil before bed this evening.

I'm one week post-op (2/11) and have been home for 3 days. I feel like I can do a fair amount, and need to force myself to take it easy. Pain is about a 2-3 on the scale, and I take one oxycodone every 4-6 hours for that. On good days, I can stretch that out to 8 hours.

My bladder still goes through spasms each time I go pee...but I figured that is normal after major surgery and having the Foley. My bowels are slowly coming back...but I make sure I drink plenty of fluids, plum juice, pro-biotic yogurt and the prescription colace to get things back in order. The worst has to be the gas, which still occurs after meals.

I plan to take it easy today... with a nap here and there.

You are making very speedy recovery but you should take it a bit easier.
Even though you feel well, its still only week since your surgery and only a certain amount of healing can happen in a week. Im a week previous to you and i feel much better today. pain is minimal.
