Can you feel the catheter when you walk?
Hi Feather, Just wanted to let you know my case. I had that cath in for 9 weeks and 2 days and believe me it isn't that bad. The best of luck to you and a speedy recovery. Take care.

Can you feel the catheter when you walk?
HI dmb,
I had the foley cath in for the whole 9 weeks, The foley catheter is threaded through the urinary duct (urethra) and into the bladder. As for the supra pubic one, I'm not really sure. If you do a search on it I'm sure alot of posts will come up. I think that is under your skin near your belly somewhere. Hope this helps, take care.

Can you feel the catheter when you walk?
a foley is a catheter inserted the regular way, in the urethra.I believe the abdominal catheter comes out through the abdomen and is sutured till ready to be taken out.Not 100% sure though.Good luck

abdominal cath
Yes, the abdominal catheter is inserted in a small hole about and inch beneath the incision site and several stitches hold it in place. Also, there is a balloon with water in it running inside the catheter to keep it from slipping out internally. It sounds a whole lot worse than it really is. The purpose for this catheter is for people (like myself) who have "sleepy bladders" after anesthesia. They can wait until they feel ready to void at home then cap off the tube near the opening to the cath in your tummy and try voiding. If it doeasn't work, simply remove cap and find relief. This worked wonders for me. The dr usually keeps this in place until after you void and then check the cath. bag by releasing it and less that 100cc's comes out. You are then ready to have it out. I wouldn't have done this sx any other way.

Can you feel the catheter when you walk?
Thank you !
I believe since I am having it done vaginally then it would be a foley like the doc had mentioned---I guess I can handle it --really have no other choice!!!!!
I am going to TONS of water to wake up that bladder!
So maybe I will not have to come home with it!
