Re: Anybody had Lupron Depot??
For me I have actually been feeling more cramping and pain then before. I thought from all I have been reading that my period would be lighter but that does not seem to be the case for me. Maybe after my 2nd shot. So guess my sweet craving was typical. So far no real hot flashes.
LovelyLadyLumps & SerentyPaws, My doctor did warn me that sometimes they start to do the Davinici and sometimes find they have to do the incision instead.

Re: Anybody had Lupron Depot??
Sister1209, I'm sorry to hear that you're having more cramps/pain...
I wonder if it makes a difference to get a shot every month or get one time 3-month shot (that's what I had)??? I'm finally having hot flashes, but mild one, so it's not that bad. I don't have any peiod at all and LOVING it!!! But I'm an emotional wreck!!!? I get upset with every little things... I feel like I go through the emotion of Sad/Mad/Depressed a lot lately...and turn to food (sweets) for comfort...
sigh.... I hope I get over this soon!!!

Re: Anybody had Lupron Depot??
SerenityPaws, Hmm yes I did do the once a month shot so maybe that is the difference. I had hope I wouldn't get a full period but after 7 plus days of off and on spotting (somewhat typical for me) I got it heavy again. I wonder if there are different 1 month dosages as well. Sorry to hear how emotional it is making you that is never easy around other people especially. Still not sure about hot flashes. I have been getting warmer early morning for a couple of years and that seems to have gotten worse the last few mornings but the weather has been so strange it is hard to say. One day it is hot and muggy the next it is cold. Oh well, if the lupron helps shrink the fibroids even a little I guess that make it work it. I hope we all feel back to ourselves soon.

Re: Anybody had Lupron Depot??
Sister1209, when are you getting your 2nd shot??? I think after that you'll be fine! You might become more emotional like I am, though!!? LOL!!!
I got a shocking "wake-up-call" yesterday!! I couldn't fit into my "skinny jeans"( I have a collection of jeans from size 6 to 12 from my yo-yo diet in the past...)!!!?? AHHHHH!!!!! I had to settle for a comfy cargo pants... Sucks....
I noticed you're having your surgery in Sep as well!! 2 more month to go!! I can't wait to get it over with!! So far, a few of my clients who had hysterectomy as well told me that was the best thing they've ever done! So that's encouraging!!

Re: Anybody had Lupron Depot??
SerenityPaw,
About 2 1/2 or 3 weeks until my next shot and then one more before surgery. I chose the surgery option because I figured I would have to do it eventually so why not get it over with. I am working and have insurance but one never knows what the future hold. I will not be happy if I start gaining weight because I finally just lost 12 pounds and still trying to loose more. Although I didn't want surgery during the summer because I like to go to the beach at this point I can't wait to get it over with either. Sister1209

Re: Anybody had Lupron Depot??
Hang in there, Sister1209!! This will be your last period you have to deal with until the next shot!!
Yah, gaining weight sucks... I didn't realize I already gained about 7lbs...
Like you, I worked really hard changing my eating habit and lost about 20lbs last year. So I don't want to ruin all the hard work I did!!!
I didn't want surgery during summer either. Because I'm a groomer and summer is my busiest time!! And I wanted to give my clients enough warning that I'm taking the entire Oct off. Most of them are very understanding and some even said they'll wait for me to come back!? So there will be a lot of shaggy dogs when I come back!!

Sister1209
I have to take back what I said before! I don't think it matters if you get monthly shot or one time 3mth shot, because I just had my period last week. And my LAST period!!! Ahh...It feels so good to say it!!!
I guess whatever my body produced prior to the shot had to come out!!? LOL!!!
Anyway, now that's done, my craving for sweets is not as strong. It's still there, but manageable! I lost about 2lbs now!!
I hope you're doing well!!

Re: Anybody had Lupron Depot??
Hang in there, ladies, it only gets better! Serenity, did your dr talk to you about add back therapy? Mine told me she could give me something if the menopause symptoms got too bad. With that said, after my second 3 month shot she put me on aygestin and I could not take it because I turned evil, but maybe it would help you. God bless!

Re: Anybody had Lupron Depot??
SerentyPaws, Glad to hear you lost 2 lbs even 2 is not easy. I manager to keep what I lost off. I had my 2nd lupron shot Thursday. While there asked the nurse what my periods should be like and she said something what period they should have stopped. She was suprised if I had one it was so bad and told me to contact them if it happened this time. I also feel like I was so close to starting the first shot it was too late. I am hoping it was my last!!!
I am still doing well. The major pain is gone and I just get flash of it and some strange twinges but not bad. I am have hot flashes more and more but mostly at night when I am alreayd having trouble sleeping. Finally last week they confirmed my surgery date. They couldn't before because they don't set the schedule that far out.
