How long does your throat stay sore?

I know I am only 3 days post op but how long does your throat stay sore after general? It's not intolerable but it is a pain in the you know where.

It was just for a couple of days. Mine wasn't real bad, I just took some throat lozenges.

Thank you. I think I will see if I can get someone to go out to the store for me in a bit and pick some up.

Mine was sore for a couple days, I sucked on ice chips which helped it and it went away on its own. Hope that helps!

Mine was sore and I felt like the skin had been ripped and was hanging in my throat. It hurt for about 5 to 7 days I would say.

Bless your heart! I had surgery on a Wednesday and came home on Thursday. By Friday morning I was having a tough time swallowing. By Saturday morning I had to call the doctor because my mouth, tounge and throat were covered in blisters and I could barely swallow. Please watch it closely. They called me in some meds but it took about a week before it felt even close to normal but a little longer before I could swallow any type of carbonated soda and I am addicted to Dr Pepper. Take special care!

It isn't as bad this evening. It is more of a pain in the butt than anything and hasn't affected my eating or drinking. I'm sure the fact that I smoke don't help any either. Thanks for the encouragment and advice.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean! A super dry, irritated throat? Not really "PAIN" but just uncomfortable? It made me cough all the time it was so dry (which coughing HURT).

Mine lasted about 5-6 days. Probably your second week of recovery you won't even remember you had a sore/dry throat!

Thanks bunches. It is better today than yesterday and seems to be worse when I first wake up. And yeah, coughing does hurt, I try to grab my pillow first an that does help a lot.
