"Fibroid degeneration" anyone???

Has anyone heard that terminology?

I have heard that term....I believe it is when a fibroid starts to die off. For instance, I had a 5.8 centimeter pedunculated fibroid on the outside of my uterus, and my dr. said it could be at risk of twisting on the stalk, therefore cutting off the blood supply to it and causing it to start 'degenerating'

dinko, I think the main symptom would be severe, sharp pain and possibly a low grade fever. That's just going on what my dr. told me for my type of fibroid I had- I'm not sure if the symptoms would be different for fibroids in the cavity of the uterus, the wall, etc.
