pulling sensation and tenderness
Hey ladies,
I am 4 1/2 weeks out and last night started having a pulling sensation in the cuff area and I am a little tender around the abdominal incision. I feel a little more bloated too. I forgot myself yesterday and lifted my 15 pound cat a couple of times, do you all think I just overdid or did I hurt myself. I also have achyness in my lower back today and have spent most of the day in bed just resting. I have had no spotting since day the day of surgery. Do you all think I need to call the doc or just see if it gets better. I don't see him again unti April 9th.
Thanks
Tiny1

Call if it would make you feel better. I do know that I have more pain when I am active.

You might consider calling your dr. and double-checking on what your lifting restrictions should be. I was restricted to nothing over 12lbs for 15 weeks. I'm a little past that now and picked up my 25lb. niece yesterday..... I sure know why you don't lift much early on!!! I'm fine but I could definitely tell my body was not used to that!

I would call the dr to be on the safe side. Pulling and tightness on the incision seems to be normal. I was having very intense pulling and tightness from thursday night till sunday afternoon and then it stopped so I do think that is part of the healing process.

Thanks ladies,
I called the doc and he said to let them know if it got worse or it it was not a lot better in a day or so. He said no more lifting until after I see him on the 9th. I knew that but I just forgot when I lifted the cat. I am so used to picking him up that when I felt better I just forgot. Some days I think I would forget my head if it was not attatched. I told the doc that and he said that being absent minded comes with the territory early on. I think a lot of it is I was on my feet a lot this last week as my mother and sister in laws were in town, I think I did a little too much walking as I was feeling better last week. The last few days since they left it all caught up to me and I have slept so much. In fact I slept last night and most of today too and I am ready to go back to bed and put my feet up again.
