How soon can I resume taking low dose aspirin after surgery?

Is it ok to start taking my asprin regimine(sp?) 5 weeks after TAH surgery. I haven't started back up on mine yet, just curious how far out you ladies were from surgery when you started? I will talk to the new dr I'm seeing on Wed, but wanted to know what everyone else was doing?? Thanks

Of course you should ask your doctor. I do the 81 mg aspirin as a preventative against heart disease (my mother died of heart disease at the age of 49) and I was able to resume it the day after surgery.

Thanks ladies! I'm actually going in tomorrow to have someone look at my incision. And then another on Wed. Anyone else tired of dr appts??

i also started it right back up. i think i had to stop for 2 weeks before my surgery. i started taking my vitamin, green tea capsules, aspirin, vitamin c etc as soon as i got home.
