A period now, 5 months later??

My Hysterectomy was the laprascopic supracervical type, & I lost my left ovary, & kept my right ovary & cervix.

Things have "have gone pretty well" for me, health-wise, in regards to being 5 months, post-op (surgery was June 12th).

SO: NO PERIODS, AT ALL, JUNE, JULY, AUG, SEPT (Last one was late May into early June) -
THEN SUDDENLY - WHAM - Brown spotting, & then red blood tonight (was after sex - blush )=

Kind of thick-ish, mucous-y......gross!!

WHAT THE F***????????

Re: A period now, 5 months later????????????

What about those "Mini-Periods" I've just read about?? I thought I read something about the fact, that a VERY TINY part of the Uterus is KEPT, right at the Cervix - the Dr has to "draw the line", SOMEWHERE....

So, there is the possibility, the article said, that SOME Endrometrial tissue is still present, & that can occasionally lead to tiny periods, at regular ovulation time......
(For ME, I have just ONE Ovary, so my ovualtion might be less often, I'm THINKING.......????

Re: A period now, 5 months later????????????

I kept my cervix and both ovaries. Dr explained that less than 5% of women have mini periods, but if I did, it would be so light you wouldnt even notice until I wiped after peeing. Even a panty liner would not be required. he said it would just be a very light tinge on the tissue paper.

Re: A period now, 5 months later????????????

Wondering IF I SHOULD maybe make a Dr's appt, or at least call -

Everything is OK today - no bleeding - Light OR Heavy - at all -

Yet, last night, it WAS JUST like the periods I'd get in "the olden days" before my surgery -

And it did happen RIGHT after making love, BUT NOTHING "rough" as some say (LOL) and it WAS ENOUGH to be "yucky & messy" & grab a washcloth, to clean us BOTH - UGH!!-
