Post surgery cough
So... I'm six days post surgery and I have this stupid cough since my surgery.
For the first day, I coughed up stuff and thought it was surgery related thanks to the intubation, etc. but it still hasn't gone away. I'm not coughing up anything, but my sides and tummy hurt from the cough
Does anyone else have this cough?
I'm taking nyquil cough at night, so it will stop so I can sleep.

Re: Post surgery cough
Have u used your incentive spirometer? The blue/clear breathing thing from the hospital? believe it or not - that should help. I had the same cough and have been using it diligently... give it a shot...

Re: Post surgery cough
Unfortunately, no one told me to take that home with me, so I didn't. I had no idea I was to use it at home. The nurse who released me never said anything either.
