Cuff opening - 6 weeks post hysterectomy appt. - suggestions?

My doctor used the term "vaginal opening" at my appt today. I have had light bleeding and wasn't particularly concerned until he told me "no exercise or relations for a couple of months." I had not read about vaginal cuff tears because I thought I was doing great, but now that I have, it's going to make me crazy with worry. He didn't say bed rest, ( it's okay to go shopping he said) but I want to do everything I can to heal.
He said restitching would not be the thing to do now but that it was a large opening.
Does anyone know if this is the same as "vagina cuff dehiscence?" Suggestions?
Thanks.

Wow, I'm sorry! Do they know what caused it? I'm surprised they don't fix it, you'd think they'd need to.
Did you know it was there? Hopefully someone with experience with one will answer and I'm really sorry you have to deal with that when you were so close to recovery!

Re: Cuff opening - 6 wks appt. - suggestions?

No idea that it had happened or what caused it. I had no bleeding or spotting until day 19. Called doc who said no worries, normal, just later than usual to start. Amount has varied some, but not with activity as far as I could tell.
Doc really didn't have answer as to why. And he is experienced....that's just part of what concerns me. After surgery, he told me I was a "stellar patient." I have been so good - I basically took October off, foregoing all commitments and doing only what I WANTED to do, which was nothing special or unusual. Here I am 4 days later being told it will be a couple of months before I can get back to my normal activities - assuming nothing awful happens in the meantime. The internet information is a blessing and a curse.
