Introducing Myself

Hi all,

My name is Kim, 39 years old and facing TAH on the 24th of this month. Up until last week, no nerves at all about this, but bam, they called with the date of surgery and now I am a nervous wreck. Thinking now maybe it would have been better if they would have called the day before and said be here in the morning, less time to stress over all this.

The upside in my mind is, aunt flo has visited now consistantly since March, it's time to put a stop to the low blood counts and the cramping and all that goes with it.

I found this site after reading some message boards elsewhere and being pointed in this direction, it seem you all have some wonderful advice, and I credit you with the little bit of sanity I have right now as the date approaches quickly.

Thanks so much for being here!!

Kim

Introducing Myself

Kim

Welcome to Hyster Sisters!

Sorry to hear you are facing this surgery, at the same time I am glad you found your way here.

I am 38 and 3 weeks post op from my TAH/BSO. Let me tell you, I know how you are feeling with the constant bleeding. I am happy to report that I was able to leave Aunt Flo on the OR table. Since surgery I only spoted for a day or two, and when I say spoted I mean you could barely see a dab of pink on the hospital pad.

The nerves you are feeling right now are so normal. This is after all major surgery and not something to take lightly.

You will be pretty much out of commission for 6 to 8 weeks afterwards for recovery so don't expect too much from yourself right away.

Visit us often and ask all your questions big and small, there has yet to be any question too silly or gross.

s

Introducing Myself

Welcome Kim,

I'm 45 and having TVH on 10/20. I know what you mean about wishing you could have had surgery next day! I have known my date for 7 weeks and still have 2 weeks left to wait. I tried to schedule around everyone's activities, etc. If I could do it over, I'd have said The soonest possible please and some pills for calming my nerves till the day. As it is, when I looked at the calander this morning, I was pleased to see that it's only 2 weeks away, and I have alot scheduled to do, so shouldn't have as much time to go nuts. This site has saved my sanity too!! Hang in there, baby, we're all in this together! Sandy

you'll be fine

Hi Kim,
I'm 5 months post op I had a tah with a burch procedure, and was bleeding when I went in for my surgery. I bled for about two days afterward, which for me wasn't really bleeding, it was just a little pink on the pad. I have'nt had any bleeding since. There was some pain but the pain pills took care of that. Before you know it you'll be all done and 5 months out like I am.

Good Luck

Introducing Myself

Cherishina1990,

My doctor told me that my fibroids were too large for the vaginal hyster. That sounds weird to me, I'm going to get another opinion just the same. I don't want the abdominal if I can help it.
Any suggestions?
