Stupid question

I had a TAH on Oct 9th. Is it OK to take a bath? I know I can shower, but my legs hurt really bad today and all I want to do is soak in a hot bath.

Stupid question

I wouldn't bathe without your doc's permission. Heating pads, especially the microwavable ones, provide moist heat that is really nice for achy muscles. I also found a good lotion at wally-world call "Village Naturals Therapy Lotion - Muscle Relief." It has wintergreen, sage, and juniper that is oh-so-soothing. I rub it in before bedtime and my legs feel sooooo good in the morning. Compression stockings also help because they improve circulation. I know they're ugly, but they really do help. Slip them on while you're lounging in the house. You'll be amazed!

I will try the heating pads. I would love to try the Compression stockings but they never gave me any.

Stupid question

My Dr said no baths until 6 weeks. Every Dr is different. Ask your Dr what his/her instructions are....Good luck!

Stupid question

My doc said no baths, and I have days where I really want one. Baths are so relaxing and help me to feel better but doc said no, so I don't. What I do is curl up in a heated throw.
