Re: So PMS w/ those who kept ovaries

I don't think Midol would be harmful, as long as you're not taking anything else with acetaminophen in it (like Vicodin or Percocet). I am feeling like I normally would with my period - moody, crampy, and even had Day 1 diarrhea. Awesome. I'm not sure why I'm still crampy, given that there's nothing left to cramp (unless my right ovary and tube are now cramping).

Re: So PMS w/ those who kept ovaries

soooo....I will still have PMS?? that is NOT good!!

I just had surgery July 17, and I just knew I would be through with PMS. My husband is not going to like this! LOL! He would always tell me "you are about to come on" when he said I got moody, and sure enough I did.

Re: So PMS w/ those who kept ovaries

As long as you keep your ovaries, they'll still make the hormones, which yeah, unfortunately, will cause you to have PMS. Sorry.

Yeah my DH mentioned as they were wheeling me to the OR---Don't worry hun, they are just gonna cut the meaness out. The nurse responded with--one could only hope. To his surprise, and thankfully my ovaries were in great condition. So got to keep them! He has said several times over the weekend---Your moody, to which I reply singing softly and sweetly with a slight crazed look in my eyes...---We've only just begun......lol

Re: So PMS w/ those who kept ovaries

Once again I find relief in coming to Hystersisters!

I thought I was absolutely crazy. I am having such PMS symptoms and thought the hysterectomy would end all of this. Yes, extremely tender breasts and eating like a hog. I have also had some major anxiety problems/insomnia the last couple of nights.

It's 1:30am in Florida and I am crawling out of my skin trying to lie down and sleep. I even took a hot, hot shower about an hour ago at my husband's suggestion. Nope - didn't help. I am at exactly 8 wks today and this is my first time realizing that this yucky part of life was going to continue. Thanks for everyone's suggestions (like the B6) and for being my "Misery Loves Company"!!! - Melanie in Florida

Sheera2900(Traci)--
I do know the cramping following is usually your bowels, although it's very similar---it's no where near the pain I would have. I too would have diarrhea on the first day. How ironic.....Anywho just thought I'd let you know.....phantom cramps ....
