Thank you to the HS staff :-)

I want to thank everyone for the kind post op letters and checkpoint info, ect. It is VERY appreciated :-)

I am doing MUCH better than I expected, and I actually feel proud to have made it through this process so far :-)

I feel lik I have "graduated" to the POST OP boards, lol.
I will still visit the pre op boards to try to be as supportive as others have been for me

Hugs to everyone :-)

Hi Mrs Gnarly,

Glad to hear your doing so well and welcome to the post op board. Are you suffering from insomnia? shouldn't you still be catching ZZZZZZZ's.

Take care..........Karen

Karen,

Ya, you would think I would want nothing more than to sleep, sleep, sleep! However...I feel like I have way more energy than I should! LOL

As for insomnia, I have had problems with insomnia since I was 13, but I have never felt like I could run a marathon....I always just felt worn and depressed when I couldnt fall asleep.

I am excited to be so wide awake, but kinda worried too, lol. I don't want to over do it :-)

Hi Mrs Gnarly,

Yes I was like that straight after surgery more energy than I'd had in months and I couldn't sleep much so I just rested. I'm still having trouble with insomnia.

If you can't sleep at least have a lie down and rest to help your body heal. If all else fails us aussie ladies are often on at this time. It's almost 9 30pm here.

Take care.........Karen

Karen,
Ya, I have been MADE to rest by all my "helpers" lol

Between my adult/teen kids and hubby, I am not being allowed to do much more than a little walking, lol :-)
I am a night owl anyway..so ya, you might see a lot of me for a while ;-)

Hi Mrs Gnarly,

Oh so your being hen pecked hey! When I had my surgery there was only hubby and I home as our children all work in other areas. So I guess life for me was rather blessed. I did feel well enough that I cooked simple meals and cleaned up. I ironed and folded washing also but I always did little bits at a time. I felt I helped hubby with this as it was summer here at the time and it's always busy on the farm then.

Hubby hired a lady to clean the house once a week so I wouldn't do things I shouldn't do like sweeping, wash floors etc. I must say I didn't realise how much I would hate being waited on and I was pleased to be able to have my routine back but I know my body needed the time to recover. even now I can still manage to strain things and I'm 6 months post op.

Take care..........Karen

Mrs Gnarly...Your are very welcome! I'm glad that you have found the checkpoints to be so helpful.
It's good to hear that you are doing so well. Take it slow and easy..and just one day at a time.
Take care!
