LAVH: Pre-Op tomorrow heres my list of questions;

Please feel free to tell me I am asking the samething over and over or if you feel I could get a better answer in another way but there they are:

1. What exactly can I expect to have removed in this process: Uterous?
Ovaries?
Cervix?
Tubes?

2. If you take the ovaries and the cervix will I start on HRT immediately?

3. If the ovaries are left how long will I go before I know if they are working still?

4. How will you manage to have little to no affect on the existing Transvagional Tape procedure already inplace. What is the plan doesn;t work and there are complications?
What indicators will you use to ensure that the previous surgery is not botched by the new procudure.

5. How long will I be in the hospital? What if there are complications?

6. How long will I be on Bed Rest?

7. How long until I can drive?

8. How long will I need to be off work what is the minimum what is the expected maximum. Is there flexibility? How will you complete the disability paper work allowing for this flexibility?

9. When can I begin exercising on my recumbant bike again? for how long?

10. What about problems with gas after surgery, can I bring my own GAS-X?

11: What about bowel prep?

12. What restrictions will I have and for how long?

13. What will the post-op visit include and how often?

14. With my family history of cancer:
Mom - two breast biopsies 2004 and 2011
full hysterectomy in her 30's
Maternal Grandmother - double mastectomy in the 1950s
Paternal Grandfather - died colon cancer
Paternal uncle - died colon cancer
Paternal aunt - died colon cancer and pancreatic cancer
Father - multiple melonoma removals
SELF - at least one abnormal pap our of every three, Cytoscopy and LEEP completed in 20s

Is it reasonable/possible to keep my cervix?
Is is reasonable/possible to keep my ovaries?

If the ovaries are left will I still experience the following PMS symptoms monthly?
sore achey breasts, lower back pain, severe cramping, increased migrane frequency and intensity, cravings and bloating?

Can anyone think of anything I have forgotten to ask my suregeon tomorrow? Surgery is sch for Friday so I am trying to be very organized.

No and actually I had pre-op today and didn't ask half that (also scheduled for 9 Dec). I am having second thoughts...maybe just getting tubes tied?
