13 days post hysterectomy: Bleeding after TLH!

Hi, I'm a new member. On February 19th I had a TLH hysterectomy this morning I woke up and found red blood like a light flow on my undies. I'm scared now and it's too early to call doctor office. Yesterday I went to craft store and got back in car, did a light cooking, maybe held 15 ponds of stuff. I been bending over trying to tidy a bit without picking anything too heavy. I don't know what to think..I'm praying I won't have to have anything fixed.

I had my surgery in 2/12 and also had bleeding about 2 weeks post because I did too much. I started bleeding very heavily and passing clots. Definitely call dr when they open. I had an internal stitch that came loose that needed to be fixed. Stay off your feet with them elevated until you speak to doctor.

Re: 13 days post hysterectomy: Bleeding after TLH!

You'll find that most of us have a discharge at some point and it can last for weeks. Mine has been a light pink and began at about week three. But then I came down with bronchitis and the amount increased and turned from pink to red during coughing fits. I've noticed also that when I start to over do things the amount and color increase. But as soon as I put myself back in the recliner for the rest of the day, it goes back to the normal light pink discharge. At my 4 week appt. Dr said not to worry unless it increased to filling a pad an hour. I'm guessing you're just over doing things a bit. I'd also be careful with the bending. I've read on here of women who have torn the cuff just from bending. Of course, always check with your doctor if you have concerns. Happy healing!

Re: 13 days post hysterectomy: Bleeding after TLH!

I had both silver nitrate, which didn't work, and Monsels solution applied in my doctors office. If the monsels solution doesn't work then they admit me again in the hospital, pug me under general anesthesia and repair the stitch. Monsels has been working combined with strict bed rest.
