TAH 8 1/2 months post abdominal hysterectomy - still have firm bulge above incision

Hi all. So here I find myself at 8 1/2 months post TAH. Length of incision and just above is still numb. I have this bulge that protrudes out over incision that I did not have prior to surgery and and the area of the bulge in the middle is really firm when I stand or sit up. Dr. said it's scar tissue, theres no pain. Ive read several posts on here about people who've had exactly this however not wrote again about if it went away. Any insight? I'm partying it goes down but afraid it will not.

I've read that massage can help loosen the tissues and make them more flexible. A physical therapist or massage therapist could get you started. I found a PDF file from a cancer center, Managing Your Scar, which describes the scarring and healing process in non-medicalese. It also describes how to massage, how often, duration per session and how long you should do this. It can take 12-18 months for scars to remodel themselves.
