pre-op tomorrow

Hi sisters!

Getting a little nervous about my pre-op appointment tomorrow. I have so many questions and feel as though I am a little scatter-brained these days. I do remember from my last pre-op from a laperoscopy to remove 1 ovary that it was rather uneventful, so maybe that should put me more at ease. Guess I just needed to get it out there and off my chest....always makes me feel better.

I am going for my pre-op Tuesday the 20th, for surgery on the 22nd. I'm hoping they will tell me a little more about what I can expect, since I am a little vague on some of the details. Good Luck!!

What is your FIRST question on the list?

I just had my pre-op on Friday, it was a breeze. I stopped by my drs office to sign my concent forms, and talk with my nurse. I asked what ?? I had for her, and she answered them appropriately. Very satisfied when I left the office.
Then I went down the road to the hospital for my tests. The first person I talked to did all my prereg. work. The next person, checked my weight and went over my health history. She then verified the instructions given by my nurse and then added a few more to the list of night before do's and don'ts. Then I had blood work done, and was told that was it. Was given a wrist band that has to be brought back with me the day of surgery. It has whatever info numbers or whatever for my blood. Was told I need the band when I come in, or they will have to do my blood work all over again, and that will delay surgery. And out the door I went and came back home. Was gone a total of 3 hrs, 1 hr was driving time.

Can anyone tell me what kinds of questions you are asking? I just don't want to forget anything.
I'm so scatter brained right now.
I can't believe the day is almost here.
Part of me wants to jump in my van and keep driving.

what types of pain meds?

How long in bed?

How long until I can exercise?

Will I gain weight? (keeping ovaries)

Will my ovaries go into shock? How long?

Can I use stairs? When can I drive?

When can I go back to work?

What are signs of complications?

When can I resume "relations" with bf?

Will my libido decrease?

Along with those questions, I am asking what type of incision, at my pre-op tomorrow.

My pre-op is tomarrow at 9:50 am. I have my question list ready, and anything I miss DH will cover.

Very nervous about the visit, but I hope everything goes ok.

I have already had my consult with Dr. have discussed almost everything except I forgot to ask what kind of prep was required(douche or bowel prep) and if I was gonna be shaved but I guess I can ask him that on the 26th of April when I go in for surgery....my Doc really is the best we know his family and he comes in and prays with all of us before hand and asks if we have any more questions.

This next step is just going over history and blood work with nurse at hospital.

My pre-op appointment is tomorrow too...4/24 and my surgery the week after 4/27. I am probably the most unsure person having a hyster on this board, due to the fact that I've got no fibroids, endo, adeno. This is simply for heavy bleeding and anemia. I feel a bit selfish/guilty. I'm going to ask about NHR to go with my hyster. I'm keeping my ovaries and cervix. Don't know what kind of hyster I'm having either. I'd better actually write down all my questions as I've not been able to remember anything these days. Last week I was at Meijer and just started crying for absolutely no reason whatsoever!
