Different pre-op procedures
It's kind of weird how everyone has different pre op procedures. It seems they would want the same information for the same type of surgery. I have a pre op appointment at the hospital on Mar 20 and then a pre op with my doctor on March 24.

Different pre-op procedures
Seems like every doctor is different. I need to call mine sometime here soon or the woman who set up my appointment for the surgery. I am not 100% sure about the night before prep. When I talked to her on the phone the only things she said were no food after midnight and no liquids 6 hours before.
Now that I have my packet in the mail it says to do an enema the night before. I am not sure if I really need to do this or not since she didn't mention it. I already bought the enema's they come in a twin pack..lol. I figured I would do the pre surgery one and then if I have a hard time going after the surgery like so many people are talking about on the board I could use one after a few days if I still couldn't go.

Yep, every doc is different. Most important thing is that you follow YOUR doctor's orders to the letter so that your surgery date isn't compromised.
Good luck with everything!!!!

Call your doc and ask. It all depends on the type of hyst you're having and the doc's training. I think bowel prep is more common with a vaginal hyst, because I had a TAH and didn't have to do one.
