Bleeding after 10 days post hysterectomy

Today is day 11 post op and I woke up this morning with a pad soaked with blood and I am nervous. I have not bled at all since surgery and my doctor says this is normal. It is very difficult to determine how much to do and how much to rest. I am starting to feel overwhelmed. I don't have a lot of family support and my husband has to work so I am torn by getting out of bed or staying and resting

Re: Bleeding after 10 days

My friend, your body is sending a very strong signal to you that you need to rest. Whatever "needs" to be done can wait. Prepare yourself simple meals, hand wash the dishes if you must, and rest. My husband worked the entire time, and bless his heart, came home from work and did everything. I heated up food and walked around my house every hour for the first two weeks. That's it.

If the bleeding doesn't slow down, call your doctor again.
