Doc says get pregnant or Hysterectomy!

Hi I'm Tanya and ! I am 32 years old and have 3 boys! I have had several Laprascopic surgeries and a Presacral Neurectomy. After my 3rd boy my pain returned full force. I have tried Lupron twice. I just finished my 6 month treatment of Lupron...however I only did 5 shots because the side effects were just too much! I have wanted to try for a girl before having anything taken out. However my pain continues and pregnancy seems like a bad idea with our income. My doctor says I need a hysterectomy. I've been researching as much as possible and my mind still isn't made up. I just can't bring myself to take out my uterus! After my last laprascopic surgery they said my tubes and ovaries were fine. So I don't even want to remove those to go into menopause! Especially after having all those side effects from the Lupron. I'm so confused!!!!

Have you had a second opinion from a specialist about what might be best for you? What is your diagnosis?

If you are not ready to give up your fertility or uterus, I definitely advise you to avoid a hysterectomy at this time or at least until you have had some counseling.

Have you tried pain management? A pain management specialist might be able to help you manage your pain until you can make the best decision for you.

Even though Lupron has not worked, there may be other medications and treatment options that might be helpful for you.

I encourage you to talk to your DH and doctors about your options. Seek additional opinions and don't rush into any decisions.
