operation in 2 weeks.

having my operation in 2 weeks and want removal of one ovary as have most pain on that side.

Anyone had anything similar ie/ left one ovary ? I do have endometriosis.

Please send me some words of encouragement, I am looking forward to the op. but it would be good to hear from others too.

I had originally planned on keeping both of my ovaries but ended up having to have one removed during surgery because the tube had over 50 cysts on it. I'm sure your doctor has told you that s/he'll make a decision once "inside" as to the final disposition of both ovaries.

I'm a little too new at this to give you much advice, but I was told by the doctor that the remaining ovary will just keep chunking along doing its business - no additional hormones or anything needed until I start going through menopause on my own. Guess its like folks who live with just one kidney, eh?

I did notice this month the normal ovary twinges so guess its starting to work!

I had surgery Aug 6th of last year for removal of left ovary because it was attached to my uterus and pelvic area with multiple cyst, with lots of adhensions this left me with enormous pain every two wks because my ovary could not swell to ovaulate at that point so anyway he removed it with no problems. Now I found out I have endomtriosis and will be having a hysterectomy and will leave my other ovary hopefully but also I'am having a mini tuck and muscle repair with this so I know the pain will be awful for me. When I had the other surgery it was a breeze, but still take it easy I went back to work in 4 days and that was to soon for me. I'll keep you in my prayers.
