Exactly one week post-op and WOW

I am at my one week Post-Op today! YAY! I will say that the pain levels are still rather high. Yesterday, three things happned:

1. My belly kind of 'caved-in' for lack of a better way to put it. I guess the swelling is going down and now I have these weird ... well... holes on each side. Hard to explain, but it's like I'm deflating!

2. I sobbed at a Progressive commercial. Remember in Look Who's Talking where Kirstie Alley's character swore she'd never get Post Partum Depression and the next thing we see, she's sobbing at Merlin Oleson in a Hertz Rent-A-Car Commercial. Sheesh.

and the oddest and most suprising:

3. Had the most intense, incredible ...er... urge... My libido went into overdrive. It was very unexpected and very sudden. Without really going into detail, it was all I could do not to touch myself. I know I am not to put ANYTHING inside until I get the green light. And I know that an O can bring increased blood flow to the healing parts.

I have never in my sexual life EVER felt such an intense NEED for sex... or an O. It was almost scary. I know why; my left over hormones are going through chaos. I'm just scared that by the time I'm 'okay to go,' my libido will crash.

I made the mistake of telling this to my husband this morning. The smile on his face... Yeah, I shouldn't have told him!

So, I don't think I'm looking for advice, I just needed to VENT! I'd love to hear how, if anyone else, dealt with this.

I was left with my ovaries so I don't know if I really should be jumping in to this conversation, though I have been rather hot and wondering if I'm having some slight hot flashes anyway.

I can tell you though that right now, my hormones are RAGING. I wasn't really having sex before the surgery for at least a few months because of a bleeding issue. So I don't know if its just because I'm due, or something to do with this surgery. I got ***** like the day after surgery and I had to almost reprogram my mind because I could feel changes going on down there.

So maybe its the hormones??

Yeah,,,just have to kinda sit and wait it out...that is the safest option.

You are not alone with the weepies either...we can all weep together.

Just remember to keep ahead of the pain with your meds and rest. Hopefully that will begin to get better for you in the next week or so. I found that the better I felt, then I would get a little more active, and you will learn just how little is way too much. good luck and we are all here for you ,,,,pretty much experiencing the same issues all together.

Awww, the emotions can run very high. After my surgery I cried at every thing and I do mean EVERY THING. I cried over the t.v. show Charmed, I cried at commercials, I cried if people said nice things or said some thing I "thought" was mean. I cried if we were out of a snack I wanted. But... I got over it and now, I am not so emotional. My hormones were out of whack I would say for about 8 weeks and then kind of went back to normal.
