That thing we fear so much

Hey any liw out ther having a hyst for reasons other than bleeding and endo. I have major ovarian problems and lots of adhesions with lots of pain sometimes it is unbearable. Is there anyone out there that feel me. My doctor will try to save the ovaries but I have been sick so l think he will be able to. I have one dermoid cyst that has been there for a year know the other ovary is swollen and causes most of my pain. My worse fear is finding something cancerous in it. Well just venting. Can any one relate

Other problems

Hi Seabreeze,
For 2+ yrs. I have had periodic hot flashes, terrible cramps, awful mood swings, and spotting 3 out of four weeks/month. Never really had heavy, heavy bleeding like other gals I've read about on this sight. Had tried bc pills, estro. patch, etc., but nothing helped w/spotting, and was on antidepressants to help regulate moods.

About 4 months before surgery bleeding started getting worse. Ultrasound in June showed mult. cysts on both ovaries, and as the Dr. put it "an interesting sac of fluid behind my C-section scar". Loved hearing the word "interesting", kind of scared me.
My mom went through a terrible menopause, with a capital "T". Have been told and read that menop. is pretty genetic. Being 44, have my kids, great marriage, I opted for a TAH rather than going for who knows how long trying this or that, to stop the spotting.

TAH was 7/16 (uterus, ovaries, cervix) Pathology report showed that the sac of fluid in ultrasound was adenomyosis! What a relief. I had felt like I was a whiner and sometimes making things sound worse than they were. I didn't even know what adenomyosis was until I looked it up on the net. I fit all of the symptoms! Now - I feel great. Dr. has me using est. patch for 6 weeks (no hot flashes at all!) then I get to decide what form of HRT I want to use. If I continue to feel this good I may stay with patch.

Listen to your body. Make decisions that fit you and your life. Read every little thing on this site! It has been such a tremendous support for me, before and after my visit to the castle.

Best Wishes, Cindy

{{{Carolann}}} Yes, I can relate. I feared that they would find the big C, even though a pathology test done on my fibroid two years before my hyst came back negative. I think that it's almost always at the back of our minds that it is a possibility.

Carolann, think positive. You have less than a month left to go. Hang there, that's why the waiting is the worst part: the things we imagine are much worst than reality.
