"non"sexual Activity That Hurts??!!

Hey sisters, my question is kinda awkward to talk about. I’m now 6 weeks post op. & not released to have sex yet. I performed an act on my dh & no penetration was involved. well during this event I started having sharp, tingling, almost stabbing pain in my pelvic region. now before I had a post on here about being scared to restart our sex life & now since that happened I am freaking out. I now don’t know if I ever want to have sex again if it causes that painful feeling. has anyone else experienced that?

"non"sexual Activity That Hurts??!!

Hi Suezy,
Could you have pulled a muscle from being tense and in the same position for too long? I've kept my DH entertained during this time too, but taking care of him didn't hurt me. Are you saying you had an orgasm and it hurt? I'm kind of confused, but I understand why you are reluctant to give details My first orgasm was a little uncomfortable just because I still had a lot of swelling and the increased blood flow was a bit of a shock, but we have played around a couple of times since and it has gotten much better, to the point of being better than before my surgery.

You are about a week ahead of me, but your surgery was more invasive so you may just have more settling in to do. Hopefully someone will have some better suggestions for you.

BTW, WOW, you got married even younger than I did!! I don't come across that often! Nice to see another marriage that beat the statistics :-)

OK, to help my sisters understand what happened -- the pain wasn’t an orgasm because I was assisting my dh. I started to experience feelings down there, but it quickly turned painful. My dh wasn’t touching me in any way so that’s why I’m confused?

"non"sexual Activity That Hurts??!!

Hi! Sorry you're having this discomfort right now.

You're still very early in your recovery period. I remember that my doctors told me that, along with sexual intercourse, any activity which involved bending, reaching, or twisting was to be avoided. This is why I couldn't do laundry (OK by me! ), cook, or even pick things up off the floor.

Depending on what you were doing (and it's not really something we can go into here because of our PG-rating ) it's possible that your body was in a position where it was as if you were bending or twisting. This might be why you felt the discomfort. It was probably not because of any sexual feelings you were having.

Once you are cleared for sexual activity, make sure you're *ready* to resume. Just because the doctor says it's OK doesn't mean you have to resume intimacy right away. There are many (((sisters))) who waited several weeks after being cleared because they just didn't feel ready -- and that includes me.

As for my dh -- well, he's a pretty normal guy, but he had no interest whatsoever in engaging in any sort of sexual activity until we could *both* enjoy it. And that time came at about 8 weeks post-op for me.
