I've been done!!

hi everyone. well Im on the other side. I knew that I was 2nd on the public hospital waiting list and i had to wait for the surgeons list to arrive . They said they would give my employer 2 weeks notice. Id known all this for about 6 weeks when suddenly in the middle of a pre-school class they rang and said could I go to post op on the 7th and theyd operate on the 8th(april)!! I mentioned about the lack of notice to my employer who was away that day but I wasnt going to knock it back. Worked out right on the start of school holidays so really my director did have two weeks notice and it was absolutely perfect timing for me - 2 weeks recuperation in holidays leaves me with extra sick leave!!! So it was a vaginal hysterectomy with anterior repairs. My gyno had said more likely an abdominal. I was home by midday monday. my period discomfort was much worse than hysterectomy. Yet before if it was possible i would have stuck with period pain because i knew what to expect. I have the wind discomfort the same time as all collicky babies about 5-6 pm funny that! Its better each day went on my first solo ten minute walk out on the street today 14th and that helped amazingly with bm will walk a bit in morning and close to 5pm and what with applejuice pears etc ithink thing will be great. I found brown bread and rice really bloated me so i will steer clear of that for a while. Time to lay down bye Linda

I've been done!!

back.

I'm happy to hear that it all worked out well for you. Now remember the princess rules: get lots and lots of rest, take short easy walks, drink lots of water.

See you soon in post op - you're lovely in your new crown

I've been done!!

LinB,
Congratulations on your venture through the gates into princesshood. I am glad to hear that everything has gone okay for you. Just don't overdo it the first week, because I felt great week one, and was SO SLEEEEPY week 2. Listen to what your body is telling you, and you'll do great. Great big

Vanessa and Jean thanks for your replies.
you were right about feeling tired in the second week plus a couple of those hormonal headaches, but on the whole things are going well. Almost onto week three
The RMO at the hospital said i could go to work in one week(which would have been last monday!!!!!) as if. When did you resume kegels after surgery? LInda
