1 week post-op hysterectomy with hernia

I am one week post laparoscopic hysterectomy and started having pelvic pain and swelling. Went to doctor and he thinks I have an inguinal hernia. CT scan in the morning to verify. Has anyone had this type of hernia so soon after surgery? I have followed orders to rest all week.

sorry to hear your recovery isn't going so smoothly. I havnt really heard of a hernia happening post hysterectomy myself, but hopefully the scan will give you some answers. its good that they are checking things properly with a scan. another possibility could be a haematoma?

i had a lump under my lower right incision the size of a golfball. the surgeon didn't know what to make of it, so sent me for a CT scan 9 days post op which apparently ruled out a hernia. I was told to watch it and leave it alone. the surgeon said he didn't know what it was. it wasn't painful, but rather tender. and if i pressed on it slightly, i could squeeze some air out, and make myself burp. very weird. right after surgery i was very skinny - 125 lbs, now i gained weight, so the lump is not visible and if i feel for it, it feels smaller, but i can still make myself burp if i press on it gently. most of the time i forget about it, and it doesn't really bother me.
