SAH with incision above the belly button

I'm scheduled to have a SAH with an incision above the belly button because of a large fibroid above the uterus. Can anyone share their experiences with an incision above the belly button?

i havent heard of this either. i have read lots of posts here where women with very large fibroids were not able to have the bikini incision..they had to have a vertical.

Is the fibroid outside the uterus and is your surgeon just removing the fibroid?
Then it would make sense to have the incision so high up... otherwise, how is your surgeon going to get to the cervix?

It certainly is smart to ask... even the nurse can probably answer your questions if your surgeon isn't available right away.
