4 weeks after hysterectomy ... Itchy around belly button incision... Is this normal???

Ever since the surgery I have had itching around the belly button incision and it's still itching 4 weeks later... Very curious as to why and what it's from... I keep telling myself it's because I'm healing on the inside Rt there but I don't know what to think anymore. Open for advice....

4 weeks after hysterectomy ... Itchy around belly button incision... Is this normal???

Hello. I had the same problem I inched around the incision to. I don't know what causes it i think it's cause it's healing. I was told it's a major surgery. So I am like you I think it's healing my surgery was May 26th. Time to time I still itch not as bad. But week 4 I inched. All my Dr told me before she released me is no lotion creams. I have a Dr's appt next week I will ask her boutique it.

Hope this helps

. How was your incision sealed? Stitches, steri-strips or glue? Some women have a reaction to the glue. I noticed on my lab report that the belly button incision was sealed with something different than on the incisions for the scopes, even though both were glue-based. Mine itched occasionally, and I just chalked it up to the healing process.
