Pain after 3.5 months

Hi,

I have been lurking and trying to find out if anyone is experiencing the same issue. I had a LAVH with ligament suspension to help with bladder prolapse. Initially my rectum hurt with any movement and even sitting. This stopped (just prior to my last follow-up) and has just started back this week. I can't stand without pain or go to the bathroom without it hurting. Is this part of the normal trend? Should I feel better and then worse? It is not unbearable but I don't think I should have to live with the pain. If this is normal, I won't bother the doc but if not, I need to make an appt.

Thanks for your help.

Re: Pain after 3.5 months

Hi (((dcbrichard)))

Since the pain has started up again, perhaps it would be a good idea to speak to your doctor about it. Sorry I don't have an answer for you. Hope you and your doctor figure out what is going on soon.

Re: Pain after 3.5 months

Hi there,

This will be of no real help to you but I have also been dealing with major rectal issues. Unfortunately for me a circle of tissue also popping out of my rectum every time I have a BM. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I went to my family doctor with a photo of this and have been told I have a rectal prolapse. I didn't have this issue before surgery so just thought I'd let you know that things can happen to rectum with this surgery. I would advise that you see your doctor and see what he/she says about it.

Hope this doesn't scare you but I lived with mine for three months before doing something about it. At least now I feel that I was not going out of my mind.

Hugs,
Fiona.
